The two parties announced the establishment of a global strategic partnership between China Horsepower Engines
Cummins will build an engine plant in the Mannheim Industrial Park of Mercedes-Benz to produce mid-horsepower engines that meet Euro 7 emission standards and be equipped with Daimler trucks and buses. It is expected to start after 2025.
In the future, Cummins will provide mid-horsepower engines for Daimler's global trucks and buses
Under this strategic cooperation, Cummins will further invest in medium-sized engine platforms and global production, and will start delivering to Daimler trucks and buses after 2025. Daimler Trucks will no longer invest in the development of its own Euro 7 medium-sized engine.

Martin Daum, Chairman of the Management Committee of Daimler Trucks and member of the Management Committee of Daimler, said: "I am very pleased to reach a cooperation framework agreement with Cummins so quickly. This cooperation will make the engine production at the Mannheim site more suitable for future development needs. At the same time, we will further enhance our competitiveness. We will work together to jointly develop solutions to create benefits for our customers, employees and the company."
